The Somali Diabetes Foundation (SDF) is committed to combating the rising burden of diabetes in Somalia through awareness, prevention, early detection, and improved access to healthcare. As diabetes continues to impact thousands—especially in underserved communities—SDF works to promote education, support research, and advocate for policies that enhance care. Through partnerships with healthcare providers, policymakers, and local organizations, we empower individuals to take control of their health and strive to ensure that no one suffers needlessly from this preventable and manageable condition. Mexican Diabetes Association (AMD) : We are a non-profit institution with 36 years of existence that provides care, education and training on diabetes care to people living with this condition and their families, with the aim of preventing the appearance of associated complications and seeking better quality life. Within our projects, we have the diabetes educator diploma, the Tonalli Camp for girls, boys and adolescents with type 1 diabetes, as well as training, health days, courses, workshops and more.
SURGhub is an award-winning, United Nations based digital learning platform for surgical healthcare professionals, designed to expand access to high-quality training in low-resource settings. SURGhub offers over 100 interactive courses developed in partnership with leading global institutions. The platform is free to use and supports safer surgical care through scalable, accessible learning. SURGhub is a joint initiative by the Global Surgery Foundation and UNITAR, supported by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and in association with the Johnson & Johnson Foundation.
The National Diabetes Institute (NADI) of Malaysia is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation dedicated to the prevention and better care for people with diabetes. NADI is managed by a Board of Trustees comprising representatives from the Malaysian Endocrine and Metabolic Society (MEMS), Diabetes Malaysia (DM), Ministry of Health (MOH), Elected and Founding members, with the former Prime Minister, His Excellency Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, as Patron.
The Diabetes Endocrinology Association Nepal was established in 2008 mainly by four endocrinologists, Dr. Dina Shrestha, Dr. Santosh Shakya, Dr. Amit Shakya and Dr. Jyoti Bhattarai, with the main objective of advancing the field of endocrinology in Nepal. The main objective of the organization is to enhance the knowledge of the national doctors in the field of endocrinology and to increase the awareness of prevalent hormonal problems like Diabetes and Thyroid disorders among the general public, thereby improving the prevention and treatment of such diseases.
Founded in 1998 the pioneers in the field of cardiology and cardiac surgery, the Cardiac Society of Nepal is a national organization of over 250 Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, Cardiac Anesthetists along with allied health personnel related to the field of cardio vascular diseases.
Nepal Diabetic Society (NDS) was established on 30th November 1990. The Society is known as one of the pioneer organizations 0f Nepal working in the field of diabetes. It is a non-profit and non-governmental organization and run solely by dedicated volunteers. All members of the Society including the Executive Members and Advisors offer voluntary services and receive no emoluments whatsoever. It is registered with both the Government and the Social Welfare Council of Nepal.
